7-27 ''C+ is above average''

I got kicked a last minute gig featuring for Joseph Anthony at Tracey's this Saturday. It was fun. I think I did really well. The table of 8 up front was laughing so hard I couldn't hear the rest of the audience. I assume the others were laughing as well. I didn't stick around to watch the headliner because I wanted to catch Justin Schlegel at the Factory for the Midnight show. Not that everyone doesn't already know this, but that fucker is a machine. He puts forth more energy in 45 minutes than I will exert all week. I watched his set thinking, "This is the 7th time he's done this in the past 50 hours." I realize my energy level is comparable to Ben Stein on Quaaludes, but I could never do that. Not even if I pounded 8 Rockstars a night like that freak.

On an aside, Justin was very kind to me in his latest video blog. Please watch.

Also, the Smithsonian called, they want their dishwasher back!

I performed at Wiseacres last week on a show put together by Norm Wilkerson. I had a pretty good set. The audience didn't want to be talked to, if you don't believe me ask Rob Maher who did 10 minutes of crowdwork to complete silence. For some reason I still decided to talk to them for the first few minutes of my set. Once I stopped talking to them and told jokes they started laughing. Once again my instincts were spot on.

The headliner's name was Andy Andrist. His comedy was filled with risk and irreverence. It's not my favorite style, but it was not without merit. He won half the audience and the other half was appalled. There was actually a girl in the audience that was so disgusted that she refused to look at him. I took a shot of this moment with my phone. It's not the best picture, but you can see what's going on.

It's moments like these that make it all worthwhile.

Why does my brother insist on making me look like a douchebag? Once you see the picture on the front of my CD you'll understand. I literally have 100 different headshots. He chose this one:

I'm not Brad Pitt, I know that, but has anyone at any point ever seen me sit with my face in my hand like that? He has decided to put that as the biggest picture on my Website and now on the cover of my CD so it can live on forever (by "forever" I mean a couple of weeks). Thanks Bro!
